Glass blowing in Murano

Heading for the glass blowing island of Murano, first approaching the northern exit of the Grand Canal then J's hair braves the wind in a high speed water taxi

To blow glass first get yourself a bit of sand (J left below)then stick it in a furnace, G (right)

When its hot (below) and before blowing you add a bit of glitter if you want fancy colours (right)

Jacky gets the sales treatment from 'salary only no commission' Fernando (in the white suit).

Offerings started at the 500,000 euro chandelier below

.......rapidly coming down to the E45,000 vase (right) at which point he was getting desperate and started plying us with sparkling proscetto
We still didn't buy anything but Fernando got a pretty good tip!
(Left) Murano 'Hight Street' just before lunch and J looking fetching .....and a few moments later - 'having fetched'

We thought we might have upset Fernando but as we sat having a pizza on the Murano waterfront he came up and chatted to us - so the tip must have been on the right side of OK
